Register
Start by answering a few short questions to create a brief profile of your background and interests.
Browse Skill-based Volunteer Projects
Next, browse our database of current volunteer opportunities, searchable by Skill Category, Time Commitment, or Location. Then, apply for a project that matches your professional and personal criteria, or simply save your favorite projects and come back another day to apply.
The SV Project Application Process:
After you press “apply” on a project detail page, a message will be sent to the non-profit notifying them of your interest. The non-profit’s volunteer coordinator will then contact you directly to discuss the application process. As our non-profit partners are looking to staff mission-critical projects, you should assume there will be a fairly rigorous interview process. In some cases, competition for non-profit projects will be intense. Smart Volunteer is not involved in the screening or selection of SVs for particular non-profit projects.
Network with other SVs
Expand your professional and social circles by networking with other SV members using our search functionality and internal messaging system. You can choose to show your contact information in your member profile or keep it private. To select your preference, go to the Member Directory section of My Profile and click on Update.
Email Preferences
Stay connected by selecting your preference for the type of information you want us to share with you by email. You can opt-in to updates for New SV Project Postings, Event Announcements, or other SV News by simply going to the Account Access & Messaging Settings section of My Profile and clicking on your preference.
