SmartVolunteer wins Prestigious Entreprenurship Award- NYU Stern/Satter Fund.

Smart Volunteer was awarded the top prize in the 2006/2007 NYU Stern Business School Social Entrepreneurship Competition. The award, funded by the Stewart Satter Fund, consists of $75,000 in cash as well as pro bono consulting services by various professional service providers. Smart Volunteer competed through 4 rounds of rigorous review and was thrilled to be granted this prestigious award. SmartVolunteer will use the proceeds of this award to fund part of its first year of operations.

SmartVolunteer receives 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status from the IRS. With its mission to increase the amount and skill of volunteers to non-profits, SmartVolunteer has been awarded 501(c)(3) status by the IRS. The law firm of Weil, Gotshal & Manges provided their services pro bono, reinforcing the SmartVolunteer concept.
