Description:
We are a Tibetan Buddhist community that has been offering volunteer programs for over 30 years to those who are interested in learning about and preserving Tibetan culture. We have two locations. Our educational institute is located in downtown Berkeley, CA, while our country retreat center is located in Sonoma County, CA.
Mission Statement:
Our residential volunteer programs grant volunteers the opportunity to do worthwhile, meaningful work, while living within a spiritual community. We also offer evening classes on various Buddhist subjects as an integral part of our programs.
We have a number of internships in many different arenas, ranging from accounting and business to fundraising and publishing. We also have a need for individuals with practical knowledge in general maintenance and cooking who would like to develop their skills. For those interested in participating in an internship, we ask for longer term commitments of 1-2 years. All of our other programs require a minimum time commitment of 6 months.
