Mental Health Association of Greater Chicago

Non-profit Categories:
Health, Children & Youth, Family & Parenting, Mental Health Awareness, Education and Referral

Description:
We provide education to the students, administrators, parents and others in school settings to create awareness, remove the stigma, provide means and knowledge to get help when needed and provide referrals to service facilities if needed within the individuals zip code.

Mission Statement:
The Mental Health Association of Greater Chicago (MHAGC) is an independent, not-for-profit, volunteer association founded in 1957. MHAGC is dedicated to helping people live mentally healthier lives. Our vision is that all people understand how to protect & improve their mental health and know when to seek help for themselves or someone close to them. We provide schools, businesses, healthcare systems & communities the knowledge and referral to resources they need to respond to the mental health of their constituencies. We provide avenues for people with disabling mental illnesses to receive the support, treatment & services that they need to recover and live full lives in their communities. We are advocates for more research and services focused on prevention, recovery, and cures.
