Rising Stars: Strategic Development Intern
Project Description:
| |
| Where can you plan and execute your own strategies, connect with business leaders and public officials, and make a difference in your community? As a Strategic Development Intern in The A-list’s Rising Stars program.
In today’s challenging job market, employers are increasingly looking for candidates with previous experiences and tangible results that demonstrate performance. This program is designed to give students with strong leadership potential the experience they need to reach their dream jobs. Interns will receive a hands-on introduction to management while helping to define the future of a relatively new social entrepreneurship venture that is working to establish a teen-run snack and apparel shop in Brooklyn Park which will also serve as a location for positive youth programming. This program is designed to expand upon previous leadership experiences and apply classroom principles in the real world.
Responsibilities will include (some may vary depending on interest):
-Leading a committee to carry out short-term strategic goals
-Assisting with fundraising among Fortune 500 corporations, local businesses, and individuals
-Planning and leading events to raise money and increase community awareness
-Creating traditional and multimedia marketing tools
-Developing plans for youth engagement programs
-Making presentations to a variety of audiences including teenagers, business professionals, and public officials
-Allocating human and financial resources appropriately to carry out short-term strategies
-Reviewing plans and strategies with The A-list executive staff and Board of Directors
At the end of the program, interns will have tangible examples of key work experiences they can use to interview for a paid position in The A-list’s College Executive Education Program or at any leading business or organization.
Hours are flexible to accommodate student schedules and most work can be done from campus.
