About Arts to Grow:
Arts to Grow partners with schools and community organizations to bring after-school classes in the visual, performing arts and literary arts to young people with limited access to learning through the arts. To learn more visit www.artstogrow.org
Skilled volunteers are the life blood of Arts to Grow. All our work outside the classroom is accomplished through the great work of volunteers and pro-bono service providers. We need your involvement to provide more inner-city kids with opportunities to learn and grow through the arts.
We have an exciting and challenging opportunity to be our Gala Buzz Project leader for our 3 rd annual Gala slated for spring 2010. The proceeds of this event are a critical part of Arts to Grow's annual financial support.
This volunteer position requires an on-going commitment of approximately 6 months with a weekly commitment of 2-6 hours. This critical volunteer position can be successfully executed virtually, on your own schedule with occasional phone calls and teleconference meetings.
Gala Buzz Project Leader Responsibilities:
• Looking for an experienced PR professional, preferably with contacts in the NYC metro area
• Lead Gala Buzz team with:
o Public relations
o Media outreach
o Gala celebrities
• Work as a hands-on team member to provide communication and motivate other team members
• Communicate with the Gala Coordinator, Michelle Duafala, as needed on status of gala buzz
