Volunteer Income Tax Assistance-Personal Tax Preparer

Project Description:
Assist low to moderate income families/individuals in recieving the Earned Income (EIC), Child, Education, or Senior Income Tax Credits. Make a much needed, on going difference in a family's life by working through their basic, personal income tax return. Income Tax Preparation is FREE.

Preparers must complete the Tax Laws Class, "link and Learn" online at www.IRS.gov then receive hands on sofware and interview technique training all FREE from the IRS. The United Way of Escambia will provide all cirriculum and supplies needed as a volunteer tax preparer. To protect those assisted, volunteers with access to personal information will agree to a basic background check and will sign confidentiality agreements.
