Grassroots Organizer and Communications Specialist

Project Description:
The DC Region of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Washington is looking for a volunteer to handle much of the database management, grassroots activities and "on the ground" collection of data. Duties include: Database ? Create a filing system to store data on various alumni groups. ? Attend Clubhouse Special Events to collect information from parents for database. ? Post signs in various community centers, locations, points of interest, asking people to register for the email list. ? Acquire parents mailing list from the 8 clubhouses in the DC Region. Marketing ? Update the Twitter account at least 3 times a day. ? Update the Facebook account with statuses, pictures, events, stories, etc at least once a day ? Keep the Communications Department abreast of all DC highlights, news and other information to share. ? Send monthly updates with information about the clubhouses, to the databases listed above.

The volunteer should be familiar with social marketing like Facebook and Twitter. The volunteer should be sociable, and willing to meet with new people. The volunteer should have at least a few hours a week to devote to this project.
