BBF Volunteers - Variety of Positions!

Project Description:
We are currently seeking volunteers to serve in a variety of roles at BBF. We are open to both long and short-term participation. Please see the below list for some ideas! LONG-TERM VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES KidLAB (children ages five to twelve): Mentors; After-school homework helpers; Playground monitors; Storytellers and readers for after-school book hour; Administrative support for program office. Youth LAB@1512 (youth ages thirteen to eighteen): Subject area tutors; Program aides/monitors to assist with sign in/out and meal distribution; Gardeners to assist in AgLAB/teach master classes; Bike mechanics/bicycle enthusiasts to assist in BikeLAB; Film professionals to assist in Film LAB/teach master classes; Writers and graphic artists to assist in LitLAB/teach master classes; Writers and graphic artists to assist in LitLAB/teach master classes; Dance professionals to assist in TapLAB/teach master classes; Administrative support for YouthLAB program offices General Agency - Fill in as front desk receptionist during lunch hour and the evenings SHORT-TERM VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES Field trip chaperones; One-time arts, crafts, dance or music project teachers; special event assistants; Holiday “elves” at seasonal parties and celebrations; Administrative help on special projects; Host a group of BBF kids on a “career tour” of your office

* These lists are not exhaustive!!! We invite you to share your own interests and talents. We are always open to new suggestions for educational, cultural and recreational activities for the children we serve, and we invite interested volunteers to suggest new ideas for activities. For example, a volunteer might design a workshop or lecture, launch a hobby group, organize a field trip, initiate a community service project, or teach an arts and crafts class. Tell us how you would like to interact with our kids, and we’ll help you do it! Background check and TB test are required of all volunteers.
