Sports Buddies and Arts Buddies Weekend Mentoring

Becoming a Sports Buddy is a great way to enjoy the excitement a child experiences as they learn new skills in the area of informal athletics. As a Sports and Arts Buddy, you're teamed up with other caring adults and provided with endless opportunities to experience fulfilling and enriching moments that come from interacting with children that are learning the basic fundamentals of team work. You'll develop wonderful relationships with our kids as you laugh and enjoy the giggles as they kick a soccer ball, throw a football or paint and draw. The Sports and Arts Buddies program provides children, ages 7 to 14, with the opportunity to build positive peer relationships. Our team mentoring focuses attention on helping kids develop the self-respect, integrity and constructive peer relationships they need to succeed in life. Becoming a Sports and Arts Buddy requires a minimal investment of your time, as the seasonal program runs for five Sundays each fall, winter and spring. Sessions take place at Camp Max Straus and require approximately five hours of your time. That's only 25 hours over the course of about two months.
