Corps Members needed to volunteer in low-income preschools

Project Description:
Every child deserves the chance to succeed, yet studies show that children from low-income neighborhoods are at a greater risk of school failure. Jumpstart is a national early education organization that helps these children develop the language and literacy skills they need for school, setting them on a path to close the achievement gap before it is too late. • Serve 6-8 hrs per week for a school year • Twice a week, you'll read with preschoolers, play games, and spend time in their classrooms •Work directly with preschool children ages 3-5 on language and literacy skills in a preschool classroom •Receive professional training in early childhood education •Work on a team of volunteers, make connections, and build lasting friendships •Be a positive force in a child's life and in your community Join us to work toward the day every child in America enters school prepared to succeed.
