Financial Literacy Speakers Bureau

Project Description:
Working In Support of Education (W!SE) is seeking volunteers who are interested in speaking on a personal finance topic to high school students in any of the five boroughs of New York City. The Speakers Bureau gives schools free access to professionals interested in helping young people become financially literate. As a volunteer speaker you can provide New York City high school students, parents and/or staff with real-world insight on financial issues – from broad themes like the inner workings of markets to more specific “pocketbook” personal finance concepts, such as credit, insurance, subprime mortgages, college financial planning, and personal investing. Schools request a speaker, and identify dates, topics and/or questions to be addressed. W!SE coordinates speaker placement. This volunteer opportunity is ideal for those with an interest in teaching personal finance and enjoy interacting with young people in high school.
