Relates the history of the 1890 village's historic buildings and exhibits to museum visitors and school children usually through requested educational programs. Thorough training is provided in addition to written materials. Volunteers instruct students in a hands-on fashion, using appropriate materials specifically designed for the program. Fun is had by all. The volunteer presents accurate and interesting narrations while dressed in proper costume. New volunteers are required to attend training shadowing for desired all programs. The children love visiting the museum & rarely forget their experience. Our current volunteers enjoy this position & have been here for many years. If you want to have fun while educating children on our past this is the place for you.
This volunteer is needed during the week day for a duration of two hours per program.
