Project Description:

A Family Mentor is a volunteer coach for Habitat partner families. Volunteers guide partners through completion of the Habitat Program; sweat equity, partner classes, and help first-time homeowners understand their new responsibilities. They listen, offer moral support and most importantly ensure the family stays on track with all requirements.

Additional Skills Required:

Mentors must be responsible homeowners or have owned a home with good communication skills. Volunteers serve on a committee that meets monthly. They commit six to 10 hours per month but should check in with their partner family on a regular basis. Mentors will have 2 - 3 families
