Volunteer in preschools to help children succeed!
|Community Corps is an innovative program that trains volunteers to make a lasting difference in the lives of children.
In the Corps Member position, volunteers work with children ages 3-5, helping them build language, literacy, and social skills that they need to succeed.
By volunteering just two days a week during the 2012-2013 school year you can change the course of a child's life!
Typical activities include: working on a team of 4-7 peers; reading to children in small groups; singing songs; reading poems; playing games that build literacy skills; leading art activities; and meeting with fellow teammates to prepare for sessions. We will train you to implement high quality sessions, coach and support you along the way, and provide opportunities for ongoing skill building. [Stipends may be available for volunteers who qualify - pending approval].|

|Jumpstart Community Corps is currently recruiting for the 2012-2013 School year. Our volunteers enjoy working with young children and have a desire to make a difference in their community.
This position involves a twice a week commitment from October 2012 to May 2013 (approximately 10 hrs per week). Our preschool sites are located throughout South LA, East LA and the mid-city area. (Volunteers must be willing to undergo a criminal background check in order to work at the preschool.)
